Sunrise, Bassenthwaite Lake
Woke up in time for the Grand Prix coverage, to find there was an hours build-up to the race itself. Great news, as we had a misty morning and I was able to go down to the edge of Bass Lake for the early morning light. This was taken at about 7.30 BST, looking across the lake towards Skiddaw. I positioned myself to keep the lens in the shadow of the tree and prevent burned highlights.
It's a gorgeous day in the lakes today - managed lunch on the patio, bread, cheese and beer, and enjoying the weather. Forecast set fair for the week, which is a black & white workshop starting any minute now.
