Mrs. Rose-Breasted Woodpecker

I picked up my camera today to take a grand total of two photos. It was another busy day and time just slipped away before I knew it.

This morning, while up in the bedroom, I heard an awful chatter. I used to think the noise was squirrels, but have discovered the Rose-Breasted Woodpeckers are some loud noisemakers! I would say the females are more "mouthy" than the males, based on the "locals".

After a week of record-breaking high temperatures, we are headed down to some more normal temps for this time of the year. You can see, however, the Maple tree Mrs. Rose is sitting in has already got buds about to burst forth in green. This is very, very early.....
