Travels with Alfie

Ewe looking at me?

What a beautiful day.

After photo-opportunity deprivation during the week, today has been an abundance of riches. In the end, though, I couldn't resist this rather daft picture of an enigmatic sheep (well, can you tell what a sheep is thinking? Apart from "Baa").

Mrs C and I have been keeping up our New Year's resolution to get out more this week. You city dwellers might laugh but when you live in the back of beyond this is no mean feat. For example, we saw an amazing gig during the week, but that one and a quarter hours of music was accompanied by a five hour return drive and an hour's queue to get out of the multi-storey car park afterwards.

That said, every minute of music was a treasure. I heartily commend The Civil Wars to anyone with an ounce of music in their soul.

Last night we deserted our house to a horde of teenagers and went to see The Woman in Black. What a disappointment - especially for anyone (like me) who loved the book. Harry Potter acquitted himself quite well in it, though. But then he has had seven or so HP films to practice acting frightened.

I hope your Saturday was happy and spent with those you love.
