My son had his first Welsh GCSE unit today which had two components. The first was a presentation for which he had chosen to speak about my hometown, Pwllheli. He had made these bullet point notes last weekend and they have been lying around the house all week. He was fairly confident that he could say everything. The second component was a conversation with the chief examiner and he had to choose a topic fr this too. He had chosen to speak about the Welsh rugby player Shane Williams. When he got up this morning, he said that he had to do more research on Shane Williams. I had to bite my lip.
He printed some information and decided to go to school early so that he could read through them in his form room. He asked for a lift so I gave him a lift. When I was nearly home, he called me to say that he'd left all his paperwork on his bed. I had to drive back to school and I was not a happy bunny.
His exam was at 3.30 and I was very anxious for him all day and couldn't wait for him to come home. He arrived home at 4.30 and he said it had gone very well. He has another oral exam in a month's time and two written exams at the end of May.
As a treat, I took the kids out to dinner. Hubby got back from Holland at 8.30pm.
