Oh What a Grey Day!

Never believe what weather forecasters say.
Far from being a wonderfully sunny warm day with the heat of the sun burning off early mist, Edinburgh has been shrouded in a damp clinging haar brought in from the North Sea on the SE breeze.

With a bit of persuasion on my part, his Lordship drove us inland to Peebles where we found the mist had lifted enough for a hazy sun to bring warmth and colour to the town.
We bought a picnic and sat in amongst the daffodils at the Tweed watching the dogs swimming for sticks thrown into the river and families out with prams and wheel chairs- every generation catered for.

We walked up the path by the river to Neidpath castle before calling it a day and heading for home in the hope that Edinburgh would be sparkling under a blue sky.

But the nearer we got to the city the thicker was the mist, until now as I sit here and type, I see people playing football in the Meadows as if through a veil, and the passers by are not shedding any anoraks, overcoats or scarves.

What a disappointment, but I am glad that with a little coercion on my part, we found the sun 25 miles away.

Although my camera is bristling with views of Peebles, I am posting this before breakfast blip of the entrance to Greyfriars Church.
