Door

The west door of Paisley Abbey church.
Managed to finish the digging and backfilling all the trenches by the end of the day. The only trouble was putting the turf back...we had a pile of about 10 turves left over; which called for some creative jiggery-pokery to find places where they could go :)

We did find what we had been looking for, and proved that there were still some archaeological remains extant, despite the depredations of the Victorians.

The weather was pretty good; I even got a little suntanned. The only trouble is that my body aches in every major muscle group :(

We went up to Shandonner's birthday bash in the evening. A very jolly night, though I was flagging by about 9:30 :(
