Algae at the Big Bang Fair

Another early start so we could get to our stand before the crowds appeared. We were at the Big Bang Science Fair at the NEC demonstrating the amazing world of algae. We had live algal cells under digital microscopes. Some of them were very active and whizzed past much to the surprise of most of our visitors. We also tried to persuade visitors to the stand to make a plasticine model of the algae they had seen and filled our tank (supposedly a very small drop of pond water) with their creations.

I really enjoyed the day - even if I was losing my voice by the end. Managed to meet up very briefly with my sister who was at the Education Show next door. Had to abandon any chance of lunch due to the huge queues so we sat on a corridor floor and caught up with all the family gossip.

Home around 8.30 pm and ready for bed!
