Struck by lightening!

This is one of the huge sequoia at NT Sheffield Park. It was struck by a freak lightening bolt in the early new year....the trunk is shattered from top to bottom- it looks like it's exploded from the inside. All around the base is the debris of bark, bits of trunk & branches which were once part of this mighty tree. it's quite a sight!
