Cocooned
Dark porches aren't scary if you have mini daffodils and sparkly wet windows to keep you company. Now I just need the all-day rain to start up again and it would be a perfect sound track to drift to sleep by. Most years, there are about two weeks when we drive around town and speculate daily whether we really can see green tints in the bare trees.
"There's green in them-thar trees, honey!", one of us would say. "Er, no, I don't think so, you're just thinking wishfully", the other would say.
Ample amounts of rain that followed many days of early Summer time temps have compressed those two weeks into two days and there is no mistaking the tint. It's not even a tint, it's full blown sproutage. My mind is spinning with plans for yard projects. I am happy. So very happy. All other thoughts and concerns fade away...momentarily.
