Balance

Every so often I see this guy punting along the river. Although on this day I was a bit slow getting the old snap done, so only got the back of him.

What gets me is his sense of balance, which must be fantastic. It looks like he is punting along on the top of a body board, with just one oar to propel himself, taking alternate strokes to the left and right.

I know for a fact that I'd be off that board and floundering in the icy water before even getting to an upright sitting position, let alone STAND on the thing!

Next time I will try for a better shot of him...

P.S. And he's still bone dry, so it beats me how he even gets on board the board (if you see what I mean).
