... and next there was resurfacing

Today we had the next stage, the laying of the new carriageway surface.

The junction you can see leads into my street, which is a large Cul de Sac. They started before 8am today ... several large lorries full of road surfacing material, tarring machine, roller, JCBs, big vans, little vans etc etc ... and the people from over 100 houses all heading off on the daily commute in an area where cars are very necessary.
For a while there was a very engrossing automotive ballet as everyone moved backwards and forwards and squeezed past. A rather remarkable stoic calmness has been maintained throughout the day. I'd wager there were a few people less calm than they looked :-)

Maeve and I decided on a long walk and a while pottering on the beach.
Another lovely day with a high of 13.8C, with a cool feel in the breeze off the sea. More pics in the usual place :-)
