First World War Museum, Meaux

I have experienced the awe inspiring monument at Thiepval and visited the surrounding battlefields. I have visited the trenches at Verdun. Today I went to the Musee de la Grande Guerre at Meaux to remind myself of something we should never forget. Images that come through the media are insufficient and we are to some extent anaesthetised to their content. Most of us are fortunate not have to experience the horrors of war first hand. The effort required to make a visit, to concentrate the mind is an occasional obligation. Today was such a day. The image I chose was of a reconstructed trench but I nearly went with the pigeon bus used for communications from the front line, a mobile pigeonnier.
