Shag on the River

It was hard to believe today's weather after yesterday's heat. It has rained off an on all day, alternating dull overcast with light rain, heavy rain and torrential rain. Of course today would be the day I had a car full of kids taking them up to Nelson for a workshop with the Censorship office. Interesting stuff anyway.

I didn't get my camera out all day so thought I'd duck down to the river and get a shot of the rain on the water as a contrast to yesterdays shot. However, just as I arrived the rain stopped for two moments, and this pied shag flew over. Click. Thank you. And I came home.
