This is the state of my toilet at the moment - the bathroom itself is coming on okay (well, there's a bath in it...) but all they've done to the smallest room is make use of some of the downtime next door to rip out a bit of random boxing and tiling. A nice bit of old wallpaper revealed here, mind, possibly of a seventies vintage...

No work today but I kept out of the way anyway, ran a few errands and spent some of the afternoon concocting a nice curry and listening to a rather cool Trojan compilation of Lovers Rock I picked up at the library. I'm a big fan - how can you not love a mix of the rhythm and earthiness of roots reggae with the scope and drama of Philly Soul. Seriously a no-brainer - Bob Marley meets Al Green. No wonder the clash chose to hymn it - it must have been amongst the most vibrant and alive sounds of London (and elsewhere) in the late 70's. This particular track isn't featured on said compilation but it's a favourite anyway. With John Holt it's all about the voice, and when the song is this good too, well...
