Views of my world

Had a great afternoon with our local forest schools network at Hazeldene nursery in Newton Mearns today.

The afternoon started sunny and bright but I was glad I had gloves and my hat in my bag I could put on as the clouds came over. I got in late from a transitions parents night yesterday and thought the sensation in my throat was just from the constant talking for an hour but it seems I'm in for the cold that the kids are just getting over so I'm hoping I can fight it off until the end of term.

The afternoon in the woods was lovely, the children were free to explore a superb woodland area which seemed so much drier than ours in Barrhead. They had wonderful climbing trees - both vertical and horizontal, there was a secret path (with this view), a muddy puddle with a rope swing over it and lots of lovely natural space to play in. Hot chocolate and toasted potato scones from the camp fire were delicious and warmed the cockles when needed most.

I definitely need an early night tonight but I got home nice and early so I can work on our GLOW group blog and share the photos and good practice from the day. Its so exciting and inspiring to be enabling skilled practitioners to come together and motivate and enthuse each other in the best way possible - outdoors!
