AFL (Australian football league)

Alex has been nagging me to take him to AFL for ages. It's supposed to be like Gaellic football. However due to being a single parent recently and trying to keep down a full time job I didn't meet the deadline for registration. I took him along anyway only to be met by the snooty mothers brigade telling me I was too late and Alex could not join. As Alex was so disappointed I asked the coach if he could stay for training. By the end of the evening the coaches were arguing as to who would have Alex in their team as he was so good. He's not tall (most AFL players are) but all that practice in the street must have paid off. So, well done Alex!
