Mt Gilead Chapel Bryn Celyn

What a miserable day, rain, rain and then it rained some more, what a let down this summer has been. Never mind it would be worse I suppose.

Went to see dad this evening and we spent a great couple of hours together, he enjoyed the meal I made and there was enough left over so he doesn't have to cook tomorrow.

Mum remains the same, although dad thought she was a bit brighter today. Can't wait till I can see her.

Got home late and was lucky to get a car parking space, tonights blip is just by where I parked the car for the night. The Chapel is part of the Bryn Celyn Hamlet, no longer used as a chapel it is up for sale, the interior still has many of its original features. Sad to see it like this, looks a bit spooky. The last service was held here in about 1981, the year after I moved here

Many years ago when the Industrial Era in the Valley was at its height, Bryn Celyn was a community in its own right, had its own school, bowling green, pub, shop and everyone looked out for each other. The houses had no bathrooms these weren't added until 1968, prior to that the privvy was down the garden.

Nowdays, everyone has their own agenda, and the place is not the same.

Happy Tuesday all.
