Ernest Shackleton

This weekend we headed to Bournemouth and Weymouth for my hubby's birthday and to see his brother who has recently been taken poorly and is now slowly on the mend.

On Sunday we headed to Portland Harbour (where the Olympic sailing will take place) where they were launching a replica of Arctic Explorer Ernest Shackleton's lifeboat used to save his men's life Ernest Shackleton. Today they were testing the replica lifeboat named after his grandaughter Alexandra Shackleton who was there to launch the boat. Later in the year a group of men will be taking on the same journey he made almost 100 years ago. Adventure recreated.
