Sparrowhawk
Have changed my day for volunteering as I was too tired on a Friday for the longer walks on the Saturday, now there is more daylight. It is better work too as I am doing the garden again instead of heavy work. Enjoyed getting out in the sun after yesterday's headache which kept me inside most of the day.
This male sparrowhawk was sitting on the log when I arrived and stayed there for a while. He was continually grooming himself so wasn't as still as I would have liked. I was given the loan of a tripod which helped a bit. Also next week I will have to go out with the secateurs and snip off the young branch which was right in its face on another shot! Also saw the male and female bullfinch, lovely bright colours at the moment and the smews, both male, are still on the loch.
Busy day as I went home accidentally with the reserve's garage keys and had to go back (not the first to have done so). Also going out tonight to meet up with some hillwalkers.
