Abstraction

Abstraction uses a strategy of simplification, wherein formerly concrete details are left ambiguous, vague, or undefined; thus effective communication about things in the abstract requires an intuitive or common experience between the communicator and the communication recipient. This is true for all verbal/abstract communication.

WHATTTTTTT? I love this painting; I too paint in abstract style. The effort to reduce experience to simpler elements, to be able to grasp the complexity of the body systems, well the painting felt like it captured that effort as we march through one doctor appointment after another over the next several days and in some cases weeks.

Next Morning Tuesday March 20 - realized upon waking and listening to the wind howl, water beat against the house, that it was that weird feeling of having a great truth just beyond one's grasp, like a filament in a dream - and somehow that is what I feel these days - something just out there but not clear, like a great abstract painting!
