Midges in ethanol

Was getting rid of some old surplus midges which had been sitting in the lab for years after I had taken a sub-sample from them. At 500-1200 midges/ml I must have got rid of at least 50 million midges.

These are from farms on the East Coast of Scotland and are mainly nulliparous Culicoides obsoletus female biting midges. There are a few Culicoides impunctatus (Highland midge) though.
