That's Schist
It was another busy day spent in uni.
Just a quick blip at the end of a hard day.
Here we have a thin section of Staurolite Garnet Schist. That's a super thin slice of a metamorphosed mudstone or shale. The original rock was exposed to high temperatures and pressures to change its composition and forms a new rock.
This picture was taken down the lens of a microscope.
