Phil and Jim's Wedding - 1960

I planned to get copies made of my parent's wedding album to take to my sister in Oz and I thought I would share one with you.

My dad was from Glasgow, my mum from Dublin. They met when he was working for a short time in Dublin, and the day they married they flew back to a tenament flat in the east end of Glasgow. Three daughter's arrived in quick succession (I was No 3!) - mum says it took 3 kids to figure out what was causing it ! and then 7 years later a son.

They were happily married for nearly 40 years and devoted to each other. Unfortunately my dad died suddenly (after a bowling game!) aged 67, 12 years ago, and my mum passed away last Nov after being diagnosed with lung cancer in Feb last year.

We'll be travelling to Oz to visit my sister who didn't manage to come see my mum, and will take some of her ashes (as long as customs don't find out!).

We can only afford this life-changing trip because I had a very lucky win on a TV game show ! I never enter any competitions - ever.

It was meant to be.
