Hadeda
Hadeda Ibis has a distinctively loud, penetrating and recognisable haa-haa-haa-de-dah call that is often heard when the birds are flying or when startled, ...
And that's the truth. If you live anywhere near tall trees where the Hadeda's come to roost at night you'll know all about it at sunrise when they head out for the day!
I was wondering if any other countries have Hadeda's and Wikipedia came forward with this ...Sudan, Ethiopia, Senegal, Uganda, Tanzania, Gabon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Gambia, Kenya, Somalia and South Africa, so they definitely seem to be an African thing. There's also a white version call the Sacred Ibis. And here's a pic of him flying - looks rather strange - see here.
