Sunday Reflections
Miss Annie had not been out in the car for several days, so with no snow or rain forecast for today, we decided a quick drive to Fairhaven and a leisurely stroll there would benefit all concerned.
The pace of a dog who is (a) almost 15 years old and (b) insistent on reading the "pee mail" left on every blade of grass is on the slow side, to say the least. Miss Annie became more sprightly when we stopped in at Paws Awhile -- after first admiring the window display -- and at Village Books, both of which offer treats for dogs.
As for me, I had fun photographing reflections -- playful photography, as I think of it -- and liked this one best.
The brewer's night dinner yesterday evening at the Fountain Bistro was superb, and we were fortunate to be seated with two fellow beer lovers, so the conversation was as good as the food. Despite imbibing more beer than is my custom, I managed to take some decent food photos -- the lamb chop encrusted with "Humbolt Fog" chevre and topped with candied bacon, served with apple parsnip puree and horseradish cream; the house-made corned beef and cabbage, with a dumpling and dill béarnaise; and the Irish soda bread pudding with stout ice cream and house-made Jameson whiskey caramel sauce.
