Did he fall or was he pushed

They say pride comes before a fall and we were certainly very proud of Speedy yet again this weekend. But did he fall or was he pushed - better ask EC - butter wouldn't melt in her mouth . . . . .

A good crowd from his training group plus a few others hit Gateshead on mass for an indoor pentathlon event.

We went down the night before stayed in a Premier Inn went out for a meal 24 adults 13 kids (12 girls and one boy!) - lovely evening, was just glad Iain the coach had his back to the window when they younger element were entertaining themselves in the car park after the meal!

Speedy surpassed himself yet again, shot put is his weakest event and although he was 145 point ahead after 3 events we all thought that he might be overtaken by the opposition in the shot put. BUT Speedy being Speedy pulled 3 cracking throws out of the bag with a PB of 7m 33cm only dropping 30 points and going in to the final event a comfortable 115 points in the lead. His coach had asked him if he was going for the event record today and after only 4 events he had that in the bag too!
Another PB in the 60m and a dead heat for 1st place there won him the event the record and a £40 voucher for Male Performance of the Day.
