Cut Across

I was walking down a lane by a little Cumbrian stream, rounded the corner and suddenly the lane vanished, halted by this "Massif".
Bridge holding up the A590 splitting the country road and stream in two; necessary progress I'm sure, but a bit of a stark modern surprise.
The rushing traffic on top, the tranquil slow quiet beneath.
