Motherly Love
It's Mothering Sunday. I lay in bed this morning with the sun streaming through the window and drinking hideous amounts of tea.
This is my mother opening a card in her sitting room before coming to us for lunch. I particularly like this photo as it proves that we have at least one glamour puss in the family!
My mother has always been rather unconventional. It's something which caused me great anxiety as a teenager, but I've come to appreciate this characteristic. I'm not certain whether it's because nowadays I care less about what people think or that I applaud individuality.
Happy Mother's Day Mum - you're one in a million!
My thoughts also turn to - Bessie, Joan, Nessie, Diana, Vera and Elspeth, all of whose nurturing instincts have touched my life, as well as my sister Sheenagh, who is a very much loved second mother to my lot!
