Anchor Handling
Is considered as one of the most dangerous activities in this industry. The A/B's have to work with heavy gear on a wet deck close to a very hostile environment with moving buoys, wires and anchors. Only experienced and qualified A/B's are used to this kind of work. Even then, extreme caution is to be taken. Not only for the A/B's on deck but also for the crew on the bridge operating the vessel and winches. This picture was taken this morning with almost flat calm conditions. Only a nasty swell running. Can you imagine how the situation on the stern roller looks with rough weather?
