Whiskey Tango Engineering
Well, I was right on the working late part, but we will get to that. Parts came in all day today, but most didn't get in until the 3pm delivery window. So this week has been hurry up - wait - hurry up. Had a meeting this morning out at a customer's. Rather than facing the stress back at the office two of us went and enjoyed the extremely beautiful day (upper 70s in March, really!?) by eating lunch on Pearl St on a patio. It was perfect before diving into the rest of the day.
Ended up working until 11pm. But we got both fixtures functional. I remember saying that there was sure to be a detail in one of the fixtures that we had overlooked, but I couldn't figure out what it was. Well, we found it at about 9pm. We forgot to account for the 0.040" thickness of the wires. This would be our Whiskey-Tango setup to 'turn' down a part on a 'lathe' with snadpaper to make room for the wires. It was very slow going, and in the meantime I can up with a much better solution.
We just happened to have a spare metal rod of the right size left over from another project, a little bit of heat shrink on the end, problem solved!
