Mothering Sunday
I do hope you all - Mothers that is - have had a relaxing, love filled day being pampered by your offspring.
The reality, of course, for many is not this! As the children grow and start becoming more independent Mothering Sunday can get diluted or have other events taken over.
Plan was -
No 1 son - visiting his mother for a 'Morse day' next weekend
Daughter - visited her mother last weekend as lambing has now started!
No 2 son - here all the time so he was the focus for today.
Daughter did visit last weekend and we had a great time. She is now sleeping very little whilst she does shifts in the lambing shed and attends lectures. The farm has had a record number of lambs born in a night on her shift so she is happy!
No 1 son turned up yesterday as a lovely surprise and I am still seeing him next weekend - bonus.
No 2 son is in the midst of the hockey season; today is a match day so we all trouped 46 miles to the pitch where he was the goalie for Leicestershire under 17's. 3 hours of intermittent rain, cold winds and I missed the 'GREAT' save!! Chatting! They won one and lost one.
So cold when I returned I had to have a shower to warm up.
Day finished off with a meal at a local hostelry before we all started our preparations for the next week.
Feels slightly odd having not been in church and no flowers have appeared but it has been a good day.
