Up and Win!

We had no game today, so went to support the reserves at home against Barrington.

Barrington are flying high in the reserves league and stuffed our boys 11-1 earlier in the season, so they knew they were in for a tough afternoon!

However, having gone 2-0 in the first half, the boys showed great character and came back to win 3-2, thanks to a penalty and a 20 yard screamer from Tails, and a brilliant lob from Brett.

Spirits were high, but as my good friend Jon pointed out the football world had a huge shock tonight. A former Arsenal player, Fabrice Muamba, collapsed on the pitch during an FA Cup tie for Bolton against Tottenham. He has had a suspected heart attack and is still critically ill in hospital.

It instantly puts everything into perspective and shows that underneath the boisterous exterior that football portrays, in times of need, no matter what rivalry exists between teams and players, everyone pulls together. The medical staff from both teams deserve great credit for working hard to try to resuscitate Fabrice on the pitch before he was transported to hospital. Hopefully it may prove to have saved his life.

The entire football community has come together and sends their thoughts and prayers to Fabrice and his family. I am proud to say I am part of that community.
