Lamesley.
I went back to see the ponies, that I blipped yesterday, but they didn't come near to me, so I had a wander around Lamesley instead.
It is a very small village, with a few houses and farms, a riding school, St Andrew's Church and a pub, The Ravensworth Arms, which is on the edge of the Ravensworth Estate.
It was at this pub that the novelist Catherine Cookson's mother worked. It is said that she met a' Gentleman ' from the Estate, and Catherine was born. Catherine never met her father, and was brought up by her grandmother.
This is the old church hall. I liked the building, but the tree in blossom next to it, was what got my attention.
