Melbourne: The Colours of Multiculturalism
Melbourne is a city that loves culture - sport, music, dance, theatre, food - it's all of these things that give Melbourne such a unique soul (despite the woman on the airport bus guide telling you it's the shopping). Indeed, it's fair to say, if you come from somewhere else and have sport, music, dance, theatre and food (etc) to share .... we'll welcome you to our city!
Today in Federation Square - the modern heart of Melbourne, the Thai Cultural Festival is in full swing. Ventured in hoping to find a blip shot ... Well, to be honest it was more about the BBQ chicken and Pad Thai (tragically I am allergic to coconut and can't eat most Thai desserts ..... luckily chocolate is plentiful in Melbourne as is cake with the two often being combined - life is great!) A group of Thai students were wondering through the crowd stopping at each food stall and cheering before dancing on their way - it seemed to make everyone happy and I thought 'hey, quick take a 'bit' shot of that' .... 4 hours (& a piece of celebratory cake later - thanks for the excuse Jackology) I've made it home. So in keeping with the food theme - Here's one I prepared earlier :) A 'bit blip' with a bit more colour again today (lol).
Incidentally, a great 'be there' moment was the traditional Thai dance (beautiful) done to the sounds of the Formula 1 Grand prix in the background - only in Melbourne!
