Found some oldish apples in my back pack pockets from some of those early morning hikes with 6th graders. Now that I'm back at home and unpacking - I figured they should be unpacked too - and since I wasn't going to be eating them I threw them into the yard. I noticed they slowly were leaving - one a day - so even the squirrels must know that "an apple a day keeps the squirrel doctor away!"
