The Fuzzy Carpet Monster

I have no idea what this bug is***. I had no idea the carpet really looked like this either!

A hand held macro shot with an error of margin of focus of about 1mm (that means it was harder then you think to get his head in focus! So his body will have to do.)

You nearly got wet daffodils tonight.

***EDIT: Looks like it could be a 'Varied Carpet Beetle'. I prefer the name 'Fuzzy Carpet Monster' - A sweep of the house has revealed it was hopefully a one off!
