A Piece of Wood From the Garden

Before the rain came, there was blue sky and sunshine & a spot of garden clearing occurred.

The day has very gradually greyed over and we have been waiting for the wet. It has come but as it's still so light outside at 5.30pm it seems to be a very light grey sky.

This was a a piece of wood hacked off a dead thing, it died in the bad weather that the north east has had in the previous two winters. The dead thing needs to be dug out but I need more willing parties to assist with this particular job. I remain ever hopeful.

What drew me to it? The beautiful cracked casing, that is contrasting, random, and evenly spaced. Simply stunning.
