Moving house.
Last year, among all the Catkins on this tree, two Magpies built their nest.
They didn't stay in it long however, as we had very strong winds, bending down the branches of the tree. We guessed that they'd built another nest in a safer place.
The tree is at the top of our back garden, and the other day while we were having breakfast, we couldn't believe what we could see. The Magpies were back, but not to use the nest, but to move it. They've been back every day since, pulling and tugging at the twigs. Every time one becomes loose they fly off with it. It is an easy way to build a new nest, or are they repairing the second one they built last year? Who knows, but it is very interesting to watch them, working together as a team.
