Movers and shakers

Jenny and Wayne have been around town for well over 30 years - making things happen, sitting on committees, preventing disastrous developments, rescuing traditions, inspiring people to look after the things that matter and generally being reasonable, rational, realistic and (thank goodness) heroically persistent when it really counts. It's because of them and others like them (Cymbeline, for example) that Blackheath still has the charm and social cohesion that residents hold so dear and out-of-towners envy.

I encountered them in the beer garden of the pub this evening. They weren't alone and as you might infer, they weren't just having a quiet Friday night glass or two (although they were doing that also). Conversations on a number of local topics were had...
Many Friday night sessions are conducted in pubs all over the world. The difference here is that the conversations ultimately translate into effective action.
