Fun Run

This is the start of a weekend of sport. The festival of sport it's being called. The firm I work for sponsors a triathlon the proceeds of which go to HMRI (Hunter Medical Research Institute). This year is is all guns blazing as there was a 5 km fun run tonight, the route meant more or less down Nobby's breakwall and back twice. There is a juniors race tomorrow and then the big event on Sunday. They run an Olympic course, solos, diehards and team events. I have been asked by work to take the photographs and I am going to be flat our like a lizard drinking.

Surfest serious finals are on the weekend at Merewether Beach, our soccer (football) team (The Jets) has a home match tonight, it is Newcastle Show Day (school holiday) and our NRL (Rugby League) home team (Newcastle Knights) has a home match tomorrow night. As I type I have been able to see the fireworks at the Show.

This shot shows Fort Scratchley at the back left with Nobbys Surf Club and Pavillion at the bottom. The city is behind and the harbour and Horseshoe beach is to the right. This is another view of the breakwall.

My apologies as I am going to be terribly behind in comments but I will try and find some time over the weekend to take a peek at what you have been up to. Have a good weekend all.
