My House

We brought our old villa style house over 6 years ago, just before we had our first child. It was the answer to our prayers, we definitely got into the Westport housing market at a good time! We have a great house (old houses could always use some work, but you know what I mean, it has charater!), awesome backyard...I mean, we had to buy the biggest tramp when we brought one just so the yard wouldn't make it look small...and so we could get on it too ;)
Anyways, we brought this house, and it's possible they said something when we brought it but I did not remember.....last summer, I was talking to a parent of another child on my porch when I noticed I had a cranberry bush in my front yard, then I realised there was another and another! I really need to look it up coz I'm pretty sure this was the first year those plants had produced berries, but when I tried them I couldn't believe my luck. So this year, three bushes I forgot about again, got inundated by other crappy bushes, but still managed to produce an awesome amount of cranberries. Harvested about half today and made a cranberry puree which is super awesome tasting and if I wasn't having mum around for tea tomorrow I'd probably be licking a spoon with it on right now. Also going to make my first ever cranberry stuffing tomorrow to see how that goes. Feeling very lucky to own an old orchard house with lemon tree, plum tree AND cranberry bushes...it just seems so incredibly decadent...they're like little end of summer surprises ;)
