Five Pence
The 1990 version of the five pence piece depicts the central section of the English Royal Arms. The earlier version (also shown) depicts the badge of Scotland, a crowned thistle.
The current 5p coin weights 3.25g and has a diameter of 18mm. Until 2012, the 5p coin was minted from an alloy of 75% copper and 25% nickel, since January 2012 the 5p coin has been minted in nickel-plated steel in order to save costs.
No 3 in the Currency series, which includes the penny, and two pence piece so far. Each is a work of art if you look closely.
