Tornado Thursday
This is quite an anecdote, actually. It started off as a usual Thursday, warm air, sun shining brightly. When I was on North Campus in the afternoon, though, the color of the sky changed. A storm seemed impending. It was about 5:00. I left my UROP meeting at about 5:30. By then, it was raining lightly. I had planned dinner with Frank, but because I hadn't been paying attention, my iPhone ran out of batteries.
Since I needed to communicate with him, I went to the Dude and found a random guy who was kind enough to let me charge up to 15%. That took about 10 minutes. By then, the light rain had turned into a heavy downpour. I sprinted from Pierpont to the bus stop and waited there for a few minutes. On the bus, I got the text saying tornado watch.
I was determined to make it back to South Quad because that would be the most comfortable place. Dinner with Frank was off because the dining halls were closed, but that wasn't an issue. Getting back to South Quad would be. I unlocked my bike at CC Little and sprinted back home. The hall director was holding the door open for anyone who got caught outside who was returning home. In a flourish, I skidded my bike the last few feet and made a nice mud trail.
The rest was alright. The rain stopped a couple hours later. It hasn't rained since then. The sky was nice after that ordeal. We deserved a nice sunset haha. Actually this was way longer than I intended it to be, and I'm overdramatizing again, but since I wrote it down, I'm not gonna erase it haha.
Peace.
