WARNING! Excessive child focused blip

The Day Today... was hectic. Weekend away plans have meant juggling school pick up, fitting in watching an assembly, two hours in work then various bus / taxi / train journeys..and that's before I get started on my packing!

But I know it will be worth it. Every minute.

I do my best with the girls, I DO.. but correspondence from school tends to be of the 'trip / lunch / photograph' money is late or 'your children' have been late variety and tonight was no exception, letter to say J has not been reading her specified book...or more specifically I have not been signing the yellow sheet to confirm she has been reading.

J has hyperlexia, one of her characteristics. No one taught her to read..she just could. She reads, She reads A LOT. She quite often reads a book a night.

She had the reading ability of a year 5 when she was in nursery. She's in year 5 now.

I don't always remember to sign the yellow sheet. MY BAD.

But apart from the letter - I had been given something to complete as part of her homework ( oh..and she is doing sooo well with her writing) and it was lovely.

It was 'what is your view?" "What would your parents view be?"

And she got them all right! She put..

School uniform
J: A little bit boring
mum: PERFECT

Eating fruit and veg
J: Not bad
mum: Oh! Yay!

Swearing
J: NO!!!
mum: Not until I'm at least 18!

and my fav..

New McDonalds opening
J: awesome!!!
mum: I'm a vegetarian

Love it
