Out of Africa

Romulea atranda hails from South Africa where the Cape Floristic Region contains more than 9000 different species. By far the smallest florisitic region, the Cape has the worlds greatest concentration of flowering plants. Many are bulbs, little known in the UK. Many are not suited to our climate, not all are frost tolerant.

This romulea is hardier than most having survived the last two winters, unlike most of my other South African bulbs. The flowers, strikingly marked on the outside, really are the most shocking, shiny, PINK!
