Footpath near Bolsover

The path is at the edge of the Peter Fidler nature reserve to the left. Peter Fidler was an early pioneer with the Hudson Bay Company in Canada, and was born in Bolsover. The path merges with the line of a former colliery railway, now a walking route called the Stockley trail. The northwestern part of Bolsover spreads across the hillside, the castle is just off the picture to the right. As can be seen, there was sunshine and blue sky this afternoon, really nice after lots of dull weather, but it is very dry round here again with not enough rain over the winter.
