The Great Wall of China

Took my sister to the Mutianyu section of one of the Wonders of the World today. I pre-arranged a lunch-time departure, not knowing at the time, how messy last night was going to be. Delicate is one adjective I'd use to describe how I was feeling.

It was raining when we left and I'd stupidly left my waterproof jacket in work. However, the skies brightened and it was dry when we got to the Wall. Happy days. Cable car up, walked along a few towers, took a few photos and then got the toboggan back down. Closer to the 'jing than Simatai, where I went two years ago with Ninny Salad. No massive hike required to get up to the wall here, so it was much more accessible. It was very peaceful and thankfully there were few hawkers to ruin the tranquility. The fresh air was just what I needed to blow away those cobwebs and aside from being dog-tired I was as right as rain!
