Last night the sunset was superb. The sun, the colour of a blood-orange, hung above the horizon wreathed in clouds. Of course I saw this in my rear-view mirror and the police tend to be very illiberal should one stop on the M26 to take photographs.

Tonight it simply disappeared so no exciting shots there. I might have gone out at lunchtime but we're busier than a one-armed paperhanger and I had a lot I needed to get done so that chance slipped by too. Tonight I had to get to a bank and then drop round to pay more of my deposit on a "granny flat"* before coming home so I grabbed this shot at Beltring level crossing. This train was heading away from Beltring station along the Medway valley to Maidstone West, Maidstone Barracks and then out to Strood.

*This is how I'm now thinking of any monies "loaned" to my younger daughter
