A day in the life of a 15-year-old

He got up, knowing his presents hadn't arrived - due to inefficient delivery service (plus he'd already had a bike for Christmas and had been warned there wouldn't be much else)

He got his school uniform on, had the usual kind of breakfast and left the house at 8am to catch the bus.

He had a day a school doing day at school things - minus a few good friends who were on a trip to Germany - and had the usual kind of lunch.

He got on the bus and came home and arrived home at the usual time.

His mother, father, little sister and dog were waiting patiently to put a daft hat on his head, give him the presents that had finally turned up an hour earlier just in time to wrap (!) and to show him how well his Dad had hung balloons on a surfboard (his dad's surfboard) so that it looked like a 3-breasted surfboard.

He went to see his Granny.
He had pizza for tea
His big sister came home and announced she'd spent all day at college making him a card instead of working and look... here... it... oh no, she'd left it at college - he'd have to have it on Monday and by the way she was starving and she'd get his present after tea.

Everyone sang Happy Birthday and he blew his candles out and fiddled with his new presents and scoffed some more cake while watching his mother type this actual nonsense right now.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOEL

(when's your voice going to break?)

Love Mum
and probably Dad.... hang on I'll just ask...
He's being odd - I think that's a yes...

Now wine (for the mother)

PS Hopefully he's going to the cinema with his friends ( "broskis" apparently) at the weekend. An evening in with the old farts isn't really sufficient, is it?
