The Canal

I dithered about putting this up. It is not my normal style. I took it on the iPhone and played with a filter whilst waiting for a colleague; it seems to have a painting-like quality - at least on my iPhone!

I arrived late last night at a hotel in the Midland for a meeting today, having walked miles from the station; cold and fed up. What a nice surprise this morning to find the hotel is next to a canal. The mist was beautiful. The silence was intense. The boats were fascinating. The TV aerials and satellite dishes did detract slightly from the romanticism but I suppose even bohemians like flopping in front of the telly from time to time.

Home tonight. Can't wait.
